For Readers - Iceland

An iteration of the For Readers project, made specifically for Haðni festival in Iceland, summer 2026. Performed on the last day, at the very end of the festival. Sleepy campers lazily draped themselves over tyres, picnic tables, sofas, and held their phones in their hands, attempting to shield the glare coming from the cold morning sun. After everyone input the URL, animations popped in one after the other. The more people looking at the page, the more the text was obscured, the more we relied on one another as a group to get through it. A chorus of soft voices crept across the lawn.

A self-indulgent 8 pages of musings on the childlike wonder lust and intimacy can bring. After closing myself off to heal from a relationship that damaged my sense of self and self-worth, being re-acquainted with intimacy felt like my heart and body had to learn a new language.
Originally installed in ArtCake NYC as part of Columbia University's MFA Summer Show, Heat Waves, curated by Kayla Edmonston and Andres Priest-Lopez as takeaway business cards on the wall with a QR code on one side.

Website with waiting room and poetry. Once 8 unique users are in the waiting room, the website automatically invites the user to read the above text aloud with the rest of the users.
For simultaneity, there was pre-planned readings every hour on the hour for 2 days and QR codes were set up around Morningside Heights in New York. Links were also distributed online.

footsteps

Exploded view of the track "footsteps, heartbeat, laughter", from the golden record aboard the voyager. the track is split into 5 visual languages (poetry, musical, binary, file data, wave form) and printed on acetate so new scores may emerge. In a gallery setting, viewers were encouraged to touch, move and create further responses.
